Chet DeVaughn Retiring


Chet DeVaughn is retiring from teaching at the end of this year after 43 years. Chet grew up in McCook and had a couple teaching jobs at other colleges until 1995 when we came back home to teach at MCC.

A retirement open house is set for Wednesday at the Weeth Theater on campus from 3-4:30 p.m. for DeVaughn and Kathy Dernovich. The public is encouraged to attend. Please come out and show your support for someone who truly cares about what he does and cares about those that he teaches.

IT Classes for Fall 2015


Starting in the fall of 2015 Mid-Plains Community College will offer an Information Technology (IT) program for those wishing to have certificates in that field. These will be online classes for those who have a busy life style and don’t have time to make it to the classroom.

IT refers to anything related to computing technology, such as networking, hardware, software, the Internet or the people that work with such technologies. A few jobs that one could use this for is web development, network administration and computer programming.

If this is something that you would be interested in just make sure you sign up for the fall sememster.

Baseball and Good Times!


The end of the school year is near and so is our baseball team’s season. Come out and show your support for one of the last times that they will be here playing in McCook. April 22nd, 23rd and the 25th are the last time that our team will play at the Jaycee’s Sports Complex.

Please come out and show your appreciation for our team and root them on for the home stretch of the season! The weather is great now and our team is trying to finish strong.

Softball Team Solid Season and Still Going


Our softball girls are on a roll this year and are looking to have an outstanding season. Right now the Lady Indians are 32-12 and looking like a team that can play with anybody.

Come out Saturday April 11th and show your support as we host CCC Columbus for a double header with the first game starting at 1 p.m. and the second game to follow.

Show your support because these girls have been playing extremely well and are working hard to have this stellar season so far.
